Have you ever felt like no matter how hard you try, your faith just isn’t enough? Maybe you’re new and every step feels shaky, or maybe you’ve been walking with God for years and life still knocks the wind out of you. Here’s the truth: faith isn’t perfect. It’s messy. It’s raw. And yes, sometimes it feels impossible. But every stumble, every doubt, every hard day is part of the journey and what matters most isn’t perfection, it’s that you keep getting back up.

Falling Doesn’t Mean You’re Failing
No matter where you are in your faith, rough seasons will come. For someone just starting, doubts and fears can feel overwhelming. For someone who’s been walking with God for years, challenges still hit hard, testing your trust and patience.
Falling isn’t failure. It’s proof you’re human, and proof you care enough to try. Every time you rise back up, that’s growth. Faith is about learning, adjusting, and moving forward even when progress is slow.
The 3 Words That Keep Me Going
When I’m trying to get closer to God, I always come back to three words that anchor me: Repentance, Surrender, and Obedience.
- Repentance – It’s not about shame. It’s about hitting reset and moving forward with intention. Every time I mess up, I remind myself I can start fresh today.
- Surrender/Believing – Letting go of control is hard, but necessary. Trusting God’s plan, even when life doesn’t make sense, keeps me moving.
- Obedience – Even small acts matter. Saying yes to prayer, helping someone, or choosing kindness, these steps shape faith over time.
These three words aren’t a magic formula. They’re reminders that progress, not perfection, drives our spiritual journey.
Know Your Why
Your “why” is everything. When you know why you’re pursuing God, it keeps you grounded when life gets tough. It helps you rise when you fall.
It’s tempting to stay lukewarm, trying to balance the world and your faith but lukewarm never lasts. Choosing a side, even when it’s uncomfortable, gives your journey meaning and purpose.

Let Go, But Give Yourself Time
Faith often asks us to release things we love, habits, attachments, even people, that hold us back from growing closer to God. But don’t rush it. Growth takes time. Celebrate small wins. Every tiny step forward is proof that your faith is growing, even if it doesn’t feel dramatic.
Find Your People
No one should walk their faith journey alone. Surround yourself with people who uplift your faith, not shrink it. Don’t hide your beliefs because they feel different or uncomfortable. Community is powerful, and the right people will lift you when life gets heavy.

Progress Beats Perfection
Faith isn’t a finish line. You won’t be perfect, and that’s okay. Every step, every stumble, every effort to get closer to God is progress. Every time you rise after a fall, you’re stronger than before.
So today, take a step. Pray, reflect, or do something that draws you closer to God. Don’t aim for perfection. Aim for growth. Your journey is worth it and God is walking it with you every step of the way.

What does progress in your faith journey look like right now?
-

Right now, progress in my faith journey looks like simply showing up and choosing God daily. It’s in the little things, pausing to pray before I start my day, opening my Bible even when I don’t feel like it, and reminding myself that I don’t have to have everything figured out. I’ve been learning to give myself grace and to see growth in small steps instead of chasing perfection. For me, progress is just being honest with God and trusting Him to guide me through each season.

Honestly, it’s about catching myself when I get frustrated or anxious and choosing to pray instead. Learning to lean on God in real time feels like real growth.
