Get It Together This Summer: Life Reset Starts Now

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1

Look, I’m not gonna lie, life gets messy. Between school, personal goals, faith, relationships, and trying to keep up with life’s chaos, sometimes I just find myself sitting in bed at 2 AM, thinking, “Girl, what are you even doing?”

But that’s why I love summer. It’s like God hits the pause button. Not to slow you down forever, but to give you room to reset.

Whether you’re a student, working a job, or just trying to figure out what’s next, this is your invitation to get it together. Not in a harsh, hustle culture way. In a real, soul-aligned, Jesus-led way.

🧹 1. Clean Your Space, Clear Your Head

It’s wild how your environment affects your energy. This summer, start with a deep clean. Not just your room, but your digital life too, your camera roll, your inbox, your notes app with 187 untitled notes 😭

🪴 Try this: Every day for 7 days, pick one thing to declutter. Closet. Desk. Phone. Thoughts. Watch how your mind starts breathing again.

“Let all things be done decently and in order.” – 1 Corinthians 14:40

🎯 2. Clarify What Actually Matters

You don’t need a 5-year plan right now. Just start with clarity. Ask yourself:

  • What do I want to feel this summer?
  • What is God calling me to pay attention to?
  • What’s draining me and what’s feeding me?

Take a journal (or your Notes app if that’s your vibe) and just brain dump.

⏰ 3. Build a Simple Summer Routine

Don’t overwhelm yourself. Just create structure that gives you peace. Maybe:

  • Wake up, do devos, drink water, stretch, journal
  • Block time for your blog, volunteering, or summer classes
  • Build in rest: walk outside, dance, call a friend, nap

✨ Pro Tip: Let your routine feel like freedom, not a to-do list.

Want to go deeper with this? I came across this amazing post on Dear Self Grow that breaks down 10 practical steps to reset your life — it’s super real and honestly feels like a pep talk from a friend. Definitely worth the read if you’re serious about changing things up this summer.

🙏🏾 4. Realign Spiritually

If we’re gonna talk about “getting it together,” we have to talk about our walk with God. This summer, let it be about drawing near again. Not out of guilt, but out of desire. Desire for peace. Clarity. Love.

Try a Bible reading plan. Play worship music while you clean. Pray without the pressure of perfection.

“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” – James 4:8

This is where the real reset begins

💭 5. Give Yourself Grace

Some days you’ll wake up ready to conquer the world. Other days, you’ll just want to scroll and eat Oreos. It’s okay. The reset isn’t about being perfect, it’s about being intentional. Show up for yourself, even in the smallest ways.

Celebrate the tiny wins: making your bed. Drinking water. Saying no. Saying yes. Choosing faith.

💡 Final Thoughts

You don’t need to do everything this summer. You just need to be present. Be open. Be obedient. And trust that God will do the rest.

So take a deep breath. Grab your planner, your iced coffee, and your Bible. And say it out loud:
“This is my reset season.”

    Hi Nifemi,
I am echoing with you “This is my reset season.” Thank God for grace and this post. It really spoke to me haha. As I was typing I thought about an email I received from Google that my storage was full and needed some space to be cleared. I plan to implement some changes this summer starting with decluttering first. ☺️😆
