Let me just say this real quick, social media can either build you up or silently tear you down. It’s not always the app, sometimes it’s the content we keep letting into our space.
For me personally, I had to change the way I use it. I realized that I was constantly comparing myself, my progress, my looks, my life to random strangers on the internet. It wasn’t healthy. And even though I didn’t always admit it, it was slowly messing with my mindset. I knew I had to do something about it.
So, I became intentional about what shows up on my feed.
✨ I picked peace over pressure.
I stopped following pages and creators that made me feel like I was behind in life. I unfollowed people whose content made me question my worth or made me feel like I wasn’t doing enough. It wasn’t personal, it was necessary.
Now, my feed is filled with Christian content, inspiring videos, motivational quotes, and faith-based reminders that lift my spirit. I follow people who talk about Jesus, who keep it real, who remind me to stay grounded. That’s what I need. That’s what helps me.
🌱 Social media became a space for growth not comparison.
I use it now to get inspired, not to compare. Whether it’s a Bible verse that hits deep, a prayer video that brings peace, or just someone sharing their personal journey with God, I eat that up. That’s what I want more of.
And honestly? It helps. It really does.
It reminds me that I’m not alone, that I’m not crazy for wanting more from life than what the world tries to sell me.

🧠 I guard my mind like it’s sacred. Because it is.
If something doesn’t serve me or pull me closer to God or joy or peace, it doesn’t belong on my feed. Period. I’m not saying every post has to be deep or spiritual, but it should at least make me feel okay. Not drained. Not jealous. Not empty.
So now, when I open my FYP or scroll through Instagram, I actually feel encouraged. Sometimes I smile. Sometimes I get that “wow, I needed this” moment. That’s what it’s about.
💬 I stay true to me.
I don’t post to impress anymore. I post what’s real to me, random moments from my day, little things I’m learning, or just honest thoughts that feel true. No pressure to be perfect. No need to perform. Just me being me.
I don’t have it all figured out. I’m still learning how to balance social media and mental health. But I’ve learned that when you let go of trying to “keep up,” you start to find your own rhythm. And that rhythm? It’s way more peaceful.
A gentle reminder…
You have the power to choose what you consume online. You don’t have to watch content that drains you. You don’t have to follow people just because everyone else is. Protect your peace. Feed your spirit. Build a space online that reflects who you are and who you’re becoming.
Your mind deserves better. Your spirit deserves better.
Choose content that lifts you, not content that leaves you doubting yourself.
You deserve to feel good when you’re scrolling. You deserve to see things that make you smile and breathe easily. And you can have that, it just takes a little intention.
